“We used to run
a truck and trailer setup with a typical electrical proportioning unit.
We switched to the PSI rig in September of 2004. The difference is like
night and day! We would frequently have problems with our old rig setup
which would cost us thousands of dollars in downtime and repairs. Since
we changed to the PSI rig we rarely have downtime related to equipment
problems”. “I tracked our repair expenses for one year with our old
rig and one year with the new PSI rig (spray gun costs not included).
We spent over $6,000 in material costs alone in repairing our old rig
and when labor and downtime was added in, the result was well over
$10,000 in lost revenue. In one year of having our new PSI rig, we have
spent approximately $300 in material costs on equipment repairs and
have not lost any time in spraying”.
“The PSI rig is also much more conducive to spraying in colder
environments. The temperature of the material can be raised by a much
greater amount than it could with our old rig. While our old rig could
only raise the temperature a maximum of 60 degrees or so, the PSI rig
can raise the temperature by approximately 100 degrees or more. This
means less time wasted at the jobsite re-circulating the material and
waiting for the drum temperatures to increase, resulting in higher
profit margins for us”.
“The PSI guys have been very good to work with. They stand behind all
of the equipment they build. If we ever have any problems or questions,
they’re very responsive to all of our needs. I’d have to say that
making the switch over to the PSI rig was one of the best decisions
we’ve ever made as a company”.

“We are
extremely happy with our rig. We are saving an average of 45 minutes
per day due to the fact that the material is warm and the rig is ready
to spray when we arrive at the site. 45 minutes per day relates to
about 180 hours (per year). We can make a lot of money spraying in 180
hours! The rig has a lot of output capabilities with the two guns and
we are able to get a lot of material sprayed at optimum efficiency.
There are very few moving parts. That makes the rig easier to maintain
than our other spray rigs. One of the biggest advantages is the fact
that we don’t have to worry about electrical issues in the hoses. We
seem to have better luck with the material being sprayed in the PTO rig
“sticking” to steel during cold weather. That is a big advantage and
gives us a little more flexibility. Bottom line: The PTO rig is more
efficient. More efficient=more sprayed with less labor. More
sprayed=more revenue, which in the end positively affects our bottom
line. We are looking forward to getting another rig. Hopefully, sooner
than later.”
